Photographic archive
Showcasing the shifting landscape of Ards and North Down, our photographic archive allows visitors to see how the area has altered from the 19th century up to the present day. Images are recorded in a collection of photographs, negatives, glass plates and slides and offer a fascinating glimpse into the past.
From old shopfronts and buildings, to seaside and holiday activities, the archive allows us to step into the past and have a look at our leisure. You can also view special occasions such as royal visits to the borough and the annual May Day event in Holywood.
Donate images: The number of images in our archive is constantly expanding, as people generously donate or let us scan their old photos. If you have any images you think might be of interest then please do contact us.
