Cultural Heritage
Protecting the borough’s legacy
Every community within Ards and North Down Borough has its own unique history and part of our work involves developing and preserving this for current and future generations.
To do this, our Cultural Heritage team engages with a range of individuals and organisations throughout the area, gathering, interpreting and sharing information about local buildings, artefacts and images. We also record and document the skills, traditions and stories of the people who once lived and worked here to ensure such information is kept for posterity.
We work with:
- Historical societies
- Heritage groups
- Individuals
- Statutory departments
- Other council departments
