Council seeks members for Arts and Heritage Advisory Panel
Ards and North Down Borough Council is seeking twelve members to sit on its Arts and Heritage Advisory Panel to guide, endorse and advocate for arts and heritage in the Borough.
Applications are sought from people with specialties or demonstrable experience in the areas of: museum and heritage; visual arts and crafts; literature; performance based arts, such as music, dance and drama; and community arts.
Emily Crawford, Arts and Heritage Manager with Ards and North Down Borough Council, is inviting residents to consider applying:
“I would encourage local people with expertise in arts and heritage to consider lending their knowledge to the panel and helping further develop this already thriving sector across Ards and North Down.
Ards and North Down Borough Council provides an extensive annual programme of arts and heritage based events, exhibitions, concerts, creative classes and festivals, as well as running North Down Museum and Ards Arts Centre, and this panel offers an opportunity to engage in conversations about the direction of arts and heritage in the Borough.”
Panel members will sit alongside five elected representatives of Ards and North Down Borough Council. They must be able to attend up to six meetings per year and be willing to discuss all aspects of arts and heritage in the Borough. The positions on the panel are of a voluntary nature and no payments will be made in relation to attendance at meetings.
Application forms are available now from Ards Arts Centre, email arts@ardsandnorthdown.gov.uk or telephone 028 9181 0803 and North Down Museum, email museum@ardsandnorthdown.gov.uk or telephone 028 9127 1200.
Alternatively, you can download forms below.
The deadline for completed applications is Friday 21 July 2023 at 12 noon. Should it be deemed necessary, brief interviews will be held on Friday 28 July 2023.
