Meet local characters such as Betsy Gray and Jenny Watts and hear tales of the local area and its people all brought to life through animated storytelling by Valhalla Street Theatre!

Valhalla Street Theatre welcome you to experience Tales of Down in the beautiful surroundings of the Courtyard at North Down Museum.

Traditional Ropemakers will demonstrate how ropes are made and explain what an important commodity ropes were in the past and try your hand at a traditional pole lathe. A highlight of the event will be Andrew Davidson composition of music to accompany the traditional ballad of Betsy Gray.

There will be fun for all the family with a dressing up box and some traditional games, such as hoops, skipping ropes and juggling balls. Enjoy lunch or a coffee at Coffee Cure and immerse yourself in an afternoon of Tales of Down.

This event is outdoors – please dress appropriately for the weather!
