An exhibition showcasing replica pots from Neolithic and Bronze Age from Co. Down.

John Martin dabbles in many things including archaeology. Based in Co. Down he worked in the Osteoarchaeology Department at Queens University Belfast for three years after retiring from a career in medicine. John became interested in prehistoric pottery after being shown a Bronze Age food vessel from Rathlin Island and has now completed a collection of over 200 pots from the nine Ulster counties.

The replica Pots are taken to the Places where they were discovered and are shown to the People who live there today. The aim is to raise local interest in the rich prehistory of our land and encourage custodianship.

This exhibition will showcase replica pots from Neolithic and Bronze Age from Co. Down focusing on how they were made, what materials and tools were used, and what we know about the original potters from the archaeological record.
