An exhibition of Ikebana, Japanese Floral Art by Mary Pearson.
Mary Pearson, ceramic and ikebana artist, creates work inspired by nature that is an exploration of symbiosis, geomorphism and biomorphism. She has explored the sculptural qualities of plant material through the art of contemporary and abstract ikebana.
This exhibition, based on her own artistic practice, will showcase works of original free expression, using organic and inorganic materials, focusing on line, mass and colour. Some of the ikebana works will include ceramic pieces she has made previously, combining them with plant materials to create new sculptural forms.
Exhibition Open Reception: Thurs 28 Sept, 7 - 9pm
Join us for this open reception and enjoy a glass of wine or soft drink as you view the artwork on display. Meet the artist, and chat about their work.
