Millie Moore presents Fragments of Memory, an exhibition of paintings, charcoal drawings, and organic sculpture made in response to reflections and memories of her daily walks.
In 2019, Millie visited and walked some ancient bogs in central Ireland and was reminded of Seamus Heaney's observations and descriptive words on found bog bodies. In particular she is interested in investigating what is hidden or sometimes revealed within the depths of a bogland.
A residency at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre in February 2020 afforded Millie the time to begin a series of drawings and paintings on this subject which she continued when back in her own studio.
During Lockdown, Millie continued to walk daily although now closer to home. This provided an alternative landscape to be explored through drawing and painting, although all her recent work holds a common theme that questions man's mark upon the surface of the land.
