NI Centenary Time Capsule
Hopes and Dreams for the Next One Hundred Years
As we draw to the end of the year that marks the centenary of Northern Ireland, Ards and North Down Borough Council would like to invite young people in the Borough to send us letters, poems, pictures and messages of their hopes and dreams for our home of Northern Ireland in the next 100 Years.
A selection of these will be placed in a stunning time capsule to be displayed in the Town Hall Arts Centre in Newtownards. Pictured above is an artist's impression of the time capsule in situ.
The time capsule is being designed by local sculptor Ned Jackson Smyth and will remain unopened for 100 years until 2121.
The items submitted will go through a selection process and every child whose item is selected will receive a special certificate.
Every item submitted should have your name and age clearly stated on it. All entrants must be under 18 years of age.
The deadline for submissions is Tuesday 4 January 2022.
Please see below for submission form and guidance.
