All Ireland Poetry Slam Final to take place in Bangor

The finest spoken word talent from across the island takes the stage at the All-Ireland Poetry Slam Final, coming to Studio 1A, Hamilton Road, Bangor on Saturday 22 November 2025 at 5pm. 

Hosted by Aspects Festival, the competition will see 12 champions from all four provinces go head-to-head in a fast-paced, electric evening of performance poetry - battling for the title of All Ireland Slam Champion 2025. All entrants will perform their own original work.

Expect wit, rhythm, heart, and high stakes as voices from every corner of Ireland collide in this celebration of language and creativity. Come early, cheer loud and witness the power of words in full flight!

Speaking about the event, Patricia Hamilton, Arts Officer for Ards and North Down Borough Council said: “We are delighted to host the All-Ireland Poetry Slam in Bangor this year for the very first time. Come along and see the very best poetry slam talent.”

Poetry Slam MC and organiser Frank Rafferty also added: “The All-Ireland Poetry Championship culminates in the annual final which enables 12 poets from throughout the island of Ireland to shine, dazzle and move us with short examples of their verbal dexterity, humour, absurdity and wit. After which one will be dubbed All Ireland Slam Champion 2025.”

Winners of the Aspects North Down Heat of the Poetry Slam, Jude Fox, Maria Connolly and Anne-Marie Foster have been invited to perform at the All-Ulster Slam Final which is being held in An Culturlann in Derry / Londonderry on Sunday 16 November.

The All-Ireland Poetry Slam Final will take place at Studio 1A, Hamilton Road, Bangor on Saturday 22 November 2025 at 5pm. Tickets cost £5.
