As part of the exhibition Surface Matters by the Loft Artists, Sara Brown will facilitate this mixed media and soft (chalk) pastel workshop.
Try your hand at combining different materials, charcoal, pastel, acrylic, ink, etc. Sara will give a short demonstration of how she has been using various media alongside her favoured soft pastels to allow a more painterly approach. She will then guide you to decide on subject matter and suitable materials to get started on your own piece.
Suitable for all levels from beginners to those wishing to experiment with different techniques.
Materials: Please bring your own Soft (chalk) Pastels - Unison, Sennelier and Jackson’s soft pastels are recommended and any good pastel paper/card. Participants may use the tutors' pastels in addition, and any extra materials may be bought at cost price during the workshop.

- All classes and workshops must be booked in advance and fees are payable in full.
- We make a decision on whether to run a course / workshop one week before the start date. Please help us to help you by enrolling promptly.
- Participants will be required to bring their own materials, unless otherwise stated.
- As we have set up and cleaning time between each class, we ask that participants do not arrive more than 15 minutes prior to the class start time.
