Join us and our guest speaker Ken Best from the Donaghadee Camera Club to learn about a fascinating period of photographic history.
As part of the celebration of the club’s 70th anniversary, Ken will talk about the Father of Modern Photography, George Eastman and his greatest invention, the Vest Pocket Kodak. This camera had a profound effect on the world of photography due to its compact size and clever marketing. Eastman advertised it as ‘the soldier’s camera’ seeing the opportunity for sales at the outbreak of the First World War.
As a consequence, Kodaks took some of the most iconic images of the Great War and his brand continued to dominate the world of commercial photography, becoming a household name across the globe. This talk is a must for history buffs and anyone with an interest in photography.
