Join us in the Sunburst Gallery throughout August for this NEW initiative to visit Maria and Anna Horvathova at work!

The gallery will be transformed into a temporary working studio where you can watch twins Maria and Anna create work, and learn more about their processes and inspirations.

Having graduted with an MFA from Belfast School of Art in 2023, Maria and Anna have been developing their practices in painting, installation and lens based experimental discipline for the past several years during their degree studies.

After a life changing move from Slovakia to Northern Ireland, they have found a strong connection to a feeling of home in nature.

In their current practices, they are both exploring ideas of home, identity, and memory, by responding towards their selected place of Kiltonga Wildlife Reservation. They are interested in creating landscapes that tell stories and remind the viewer of old feelings and cherished moments. Their connection and perception of the landscape has developed into an appreciation of the natural world around us.
