Musicians from the Ulster Orchestra are delighted to make their annual visit to Bangor Abbey with a programme full of energy, joy and effervescent melody.
Dohnányi’s Serenade for String Trio is a suite packed with musical riches, while Mozart’s Flute Quartet No. 1 is sprightly and bright, with a middle movement full of lyrical melancholy. The concert closes with Mendelssohn’s Octet for Strings, one of his earliest works, buzzing with the sunny optimism and cheerful exuberance of youth.
