A talk by Art Historian, Dr Dickon Hall.
As part of our ‘Inspiration and Transformation’ exhibition we have invited art historian Dr Dickon Hall to celebrate the incredible artists that have been inspired by the people and landscape of the Borough.
Throughout the twentieth century, significant artists, including Colin Middleton and Daniel O’Neill, came to work and live in North Down and Ards. This talk will look at ways in which they created an important visual record of the Borough and also brought a transformative modernist vision to familiar towns and landscapes.
Dr Hall has curated and co-curated more than sixty exhibitions in Northern Ireland, Dublin and London and has written extensively on modern and contemporary Irish, British and European art..
