A table carved by Peter Lyons
Peter Lyons is an artist specialising in making both practical and art pieces with wood. He creates each piece using a variety of different sustainable wood. As well as selling these original pieces on display here, he also offers commissions.
Peter learned his skills from various woodturners from around the world, his inspiration was Binh Pho, a Vietnamese wood turner living in the USA. The decorated and pierced work in this display is inspired by Binh.
Peter had been a wood turner for over 25 years. He joined the Irish Woodturners Guild and helped to run the Ulster Wood Turners club at the Wood shed in Templepatrick. He has been teaching wood turning for the past 10 years. Peter does both Spindle and Faceplate woodturning; this enables him to do relatively complex pieces when necessary.
