The Last Folk Bards of Ulster

A special event celebrating the Ulster Folk Museum’s recent commission from folk artist Joshua Burnside. Joshua has been invited by the museum to create new songs based on their extensive Robert Huddleston archives. Hear more about Huddleston and the new work created from this unique project creating a bridge between two folk bards from County Down over 150 years.

Pick up a copy of our self-guided tour exploring the story of the Ulster-Scots language with the Bard of Moneyrea Robert Huddleston.

Five Fables

Settle into the original 1900s picture house to watch 'Five Fables'; five medieval Scots fables, translated by Seamus Heaney, that have been brought into the 21st century as enchanting, animated tales suitable for all the family. Originally commissioned for the BBC by the Ulster-Scots Broadcast Fund the animations are narrated by acclaimed comedian/actor Billy Connolly with a specially composed score by internationally renowned pianist Barry Douglas.
