In 2021 when released from lockdown the artists Helen Sanlon and Pat McLaughlin resumed their practise of working outdoors.
They met each week in the award-winning Bangor Walled Garden with their sketchbooks and a variety of materials. Inspiration was drawn from the various plant forms, the play of light, contrasts of shape and colour and the seasonal changes.
To express their personal visions, they use a variety of media and techniques including painting, print, collage and stitch.
The exhibition includes a display of the artist's sketchbooks showing how they work in the natural environment.
During the exhibition they shall be sketching in the garden on selected days.
