Join us for an informal artist talk as Terry Aston discusses his artist journey and how creativity has been influential in his life.
Drawing has always been the cornerstone of Terry Aston’s life and his drawing ability inevitably led to a career as an artist/illustrator and lecturer in Art & Design.
The talk will focus on how drawing has helped Terry recover from a serious coronary collapse since January 2021. Terry was in an induced coma for a week and hospitalised for nearly five weeks
When his ability to speak returned, he was delighted to find that he could still hold a pencil.
Terry wanted to write and draw and went on to produce an illustrated poem about his experiences and participate with a USA based illustrator's daughter in the annual Inkober project. The project involves making one ink drawing each day in October. This provided a continuity of purpose and a common experience which was both challenging and enjoyable.
