Join us at North Down Museum for an informal talk by Peter Meanley about his work, influences, inspiration and love of salt glazed ceramics.
Potter, Peter Meanley is originally from Yorkshire. He attended York School of Art as a painter and Royal College of Art as a ceramic designer. He taught briefly in Bradford and went on to be senior course tutor in ceramics at the University of Ulster when he made Bangor his home.
Peter has been a master salt glaze ceramic artist for more than 35 years. Originally he was a teapot maker. Although he still makes teapots he has increasingly made forms which ‘contain liquid’ and to be used to pour from.
His work is held in many National and International collections and museums.
In May 2022 Peter had a solo exhibition of new work in the Craft NI Gallery.
