Join artist Sharon Adams for a playful exploration of mark making on paper.

This interactive session uses a range of natural materials alongside tools and contraptions Sharon has devised to interrupt the drawing process and generate unexpected outcomes.

Participants will make both individual and collaborative drawings with a range of organic materials, including charcoal made from local peat and freshly juiced grass, to create gestural marks on different shapes and sizes of paper.

Hear how this process informs Sharon’s 3D drawings in various materials and scales and perhaps find some new techniques you can adapt for yourself.

All materials provided. Suitable for all abilities, please bring an apron or wear studio clothes.

This workshop accompanies the exhibition Beyond Edges by Sharon Adams, Andrea Spencer, and Nicola Nemec in the Georgian Gallery, Ards Arts Centre. You will visit the exhibition for inspiration during this workshop.
