NIGHT GLOW is an online exhibition by Ciaran Magill for Ards Arts Centre
Ciaran Magill was due to exhibit a body of new work for a solo exhibition in the Georgian Gallery, Ards Arts Centre in May 2020. Unfortunately due to the closure of Ards Arts Centre during lockdown, his exhibition could not take place in person and has now been postponed to March 2021.
However, we are pleased to showcase a selection of his paintings in an online exhibition, curated by Brendan Jamison.
Ciaran Magill’s latest solo exhibition explores rural landscapes before and after storms, from daylight through to twilight. Eerie scenes mingle with gentle romantic depictions, often creating a mystical quality. The viewer will find dreamscapes of hazy mountains and alluring forests. Magill invites the viewer to imagine wandering through these magical places as they view the works. The paintings are rich in colour, texture and the use of line, offering a feast for the senses.
The exhibition is curated by Ciaran’s lifelong friend Brendan Jamison who has shown his work all around the world.
